I can confirm this on ~amd64 as well.
It's a libtool rebuild problem, I'm on it.
Okay, I confirmed the package does not build with libtool 1.5, so I've just added a proper dependency over libtool 2.2. Those wanting to use it with stable are going to have a bit of a bumpy ride, but it'll work at least.
