Description Frederic Grosshans 2005-06-02 07:32:48 UTC
gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r5 (no later) is needed for beagle-0.0.9 because it has inotify-0.21 . I know beagle is out of portage, but I feel it's a good enough reason to keep this old kernel in portage.

According to the Changelog, it was removed from portage only because a newer fersion was available:
  13 Apr 2005; Daniel Drake <dsd@gentoo.org>
  -gentoo-sources-2.6.10-r8.ebuild, -gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r3.ebuild,
  -gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r4.ebuild, -gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r5.ebuild,
  gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r6.ebuild:
2.6.11-r6 stable on x86, remove old versions

I only made a mistake in the blocked "beagle bug" number above. I've seen it
quite quickly, but some people from the unrelated bug might have recieved a
totally useless notice.

I guess I shoul be clearer next time.

2.6.11-r5 was removed because it is vulnerable to security problems. You have to
patch your kernel yourself if you want beagle to work with inotify.
