Description Otártics András 2005-05-27 06:14:19 UTC
This is for those, who try to use the savage dri/drm, found on cvs-s, but cannot
make it work, because every time it crashes the screen and freezes the computer.
The bug only happens, if someone uses framebuffered console.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install the savage dri driver as told on HOWTO pages. (And use fb console)
2.start xorg
3.

Actual Results:
It crashed...

Expected Results:
work...

Can be avoided, if the Option "DisableTile" "true" is send to the graphics
driver by the /etc/X11/xorg.conf. But it disables dri.
The other solution is that, the framebuffered console support must be disabled.

/It causes serious data losses if using XFS filesystem./

Hmm, closing as UPSTREAM then... or did I miss the point of the bug?

I don't quite understand what this means? I am guessing cvs-s is the snapshots
that dri.fd.o has availabe maybe? I am using xorg-x11 6.8.99.8, and x11-drm
snapshot 20050502, with a framebuffer, and no crashes at all. (Savage TwisterK)
