This project is bundled in many projects that may have GPL licenses. The only package to my knowledge in ::gentoo that bundles this is sci-electronics/qelectrotech which even copied the restriction into their GPL-2 license. > Permission is not granted to use this software or any of the associated files > as sample data for the purposes of building machine learning models. https://github.com/qelectrotech/qelectrotech-source-mirror/blob/master/LICENSE#L10...L11 Other projects where I've seen this bundled are notepadnext (GPL-3) and opentodolist (GPL-3) but these aren't packaged.
Not sure if that's an additional restriction or merely a clarification, because such usage may already be prohibited by Sections 2.a) and 4. of GPL-2: a) You must cause the modified files to carry prominent notices stating that you changed the files and the date of any change. 4. You may not copy, modify, sublicense, or distribute the Program except as expressly provided under this License.
fwiw this looks like one of these packages that got added to qt@g.o without any real reason beside "it uses Qt" and whenever I'd have went through these (haven't yet), I'd have dropped it to m-n. So if there's any problems with this package, can just CC treecleaner as I don't think anyone in qt@ cares.

On that note, I may work checking what could drop to m-n today -- probably be a bit given need to check the background of each.
