Sparc keyboard mapping does not work with xorg-x11 binary package from GRP CD. Problem occurs when X is run using the startx command. Keyboard works fine on the basic command line text screen.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Gentoo Sparc64 2005.0 Linux
2. Install sparc64 GRP CD as per installation instructions.
3. Enter startx to run X.
3. Tried multiple xorg.conf setups and nothing worked.

Actual Results:  
Keyboard keys did not produce the correct letter.

Expected Results:  
Keyboard mapping should be corrected.

Forcing a recompile of xorg-x11 corrects the problem. Compiled the source code
provided with the 2005.0 and/or GRP distribution. Did not download any source code.

Yeah, GRP for 2005.0 was built against a 2.6 kernel which caused issues with 2.4.
