I just upgraded from Mozilla 1.7.5 to 1.7.7, and I haven't even begun to explore the things that have broken. Here are two that I've found so far: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293261 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293263 I have no way of telling if it's a Gentoo problem (and they're likely to blame it on Gentoo) or if something got borked in the ebuild. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
more information would be appreciated please post the output of the commands "emerge info" also "emerge -pv mozilla"
And I would also suggest as the Mozilla response - check your .mozilla directory for permissions, as well as the chrome - you could mv ~/.mozilla ~/mozilla-backup and restart mozilla and see if that works.

have you moved .mozilla out of the way and re-run Mozilla - do you still get the same problems?
No response from user - see comment #4.
My apologies for not having gotten back to you sooner. Moving .mozilla did indeed fix the problems. My guess is that there was a format change in some of the files that wasn't transitioned properly by the new version.

This is a well-known upstream issue, profiles often break after upgrade. :/ Thanks for reporting back, closing.
