The latest ebuild of app-emacs/ddskk doesn't work if you set USE=jit for emacs. It's fixed in the upstream, but they are not so active these days. They haven't made a versioned release, so it seems we should use a snapshot. I cc-ed to Ulrich Müller, who kindly fixed bug #893174 a few days ago, of which situation was similar to the current bug. @Ulrich: This package is co-maintained by the cjk team. Sorry if cc-ing to you was inapropriate. And thanks for bumping mew. I attached my ebuild. I hope it helps. BTW bug #836034 is there. Thanks, Gentoo deveopers. Reproducible: Always

I'll be happy to backport a fix and apply a patch in the 17.1 ebuild, if you point out the relevant upstream commit(s). As for a snapshot bump, I'd rather leave that to the CJK team. Upstream changes since the last release look extensive, and I have no idea how to test this package.
Created attachment 856452 [details] New ebuild, incorporating the fix from bug #836034. This new ebuild cherry-picks the fix in bug#836034, i.e. (i) void variable $ED fix, (ii) EAPI=8 and (iii) minor cleanups. Thanks Ulrich for your reply. Let us wait for the cjk team action. At the very least, a working ebuild is available for users.
