abiword-3.0.5.ebuild has:

RDEPEND="
...
	plugins? (
	...
		thesaurus? ( >=app-text/aiksaurus-1.2[gtk] )
		

But in plugin-configure.m4 Abiword is looking for aiksaurusgtk3-1.0.pc not gaiksaurus-1.0.pc which is installed by app-text/aiksaurus-1.2[gtk] for the GTK 2 library and gaiksaurus program.

When Abiword doesn't find aiksaurusgtk3-1.0.pc it builds its own GTK 3 frontend to aiksaurus.
