Description Botykai Zsolt 2005-04-13 02:25:41 UTC
Today morning just used xorg/xfce4/firefox/konqueror/kontact/ooffice/xmms and browsed the www, while compiling (-uD world - IMHO it's unrelated).
Just closed all tabs in firefox (maybe it's unrelated too), and then noticed that my mouse buttons (and the wheel) stopped working (there was some beep, but it could be emerge too...).
I got the cursor (the default arrow), I can move it, but I can't click (with results) any of my buttons.
Just switched to console (C+A+F1), and started gpm, and it worked - so it should be a Xorg problem? I don't want to restart X for some 5-6 hours ...

Just figured it out:
~ $ egrep -i key .xsession-errors
** (xfwm4:16822): CRITICAL **: myScreenUngrabKeyboard: assertion
`screen_info->key_grabs > 0' failed
** (xfwm4:16822): CRITICAL **: myScreenUngrabKeyboard: assertion
`screen_info->key_grabs > 0' failed
~ $ killall xfwm4 && xfwm4 &
And I got my mouse back.
Find this on the web (but as I'm not a programmer maybe these are unrelated too...):
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-cvs-commits/2005-April/msg00019.html
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-extras-commits/2005-March/msg01981.html

I'm using:
xfwm4 -V
        This is xfwm4 version 4.2.1 for Xfce 4.2.1
        built with GTK+-2.6.4, linked with GTK+-2.6.4.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Comment 1 Botykai Zsolt 2005-05-07 07:36:55 UTC
After some work realised, that sometimes the keyboard goes "off" with simillar .xsession errors as the mouse :-(
