I'm thinking we should last rite icedtea, actually, based on the inactivity of the proxied maintainer. See https://bugs.gentoo.org/633050#c1.

I can contribute a bump to 3.30 (https://mail.openjdk.org/pipermail/distro-pkg-dev/2024-February/042651.html), or maybe the 3.31 release next month, if there is still some way to do so. I've never had commit access to make changes to the main tree.

Which doesn't preclude it being added back to the tree, but after *several* years of an unresponsive Gentoo maintainer in a package with numerous security issues (and more coming every few months, see dependencies on this bug), and one with a far-better-supported alternative at that, I think we should keep this package gone, unless we can find more maintainers for it.
