Description Russell Sutherland 2002-10-07 06:38:25 UTC
I've the parallel port enabled in the kernel.
Its found upon boot up
I'm using the devfs file system for /dev

There is no device (/dev/lp0) in the /dev directory

lp is for line printer
parport is for parallel ports
Comment 2 Russell Sutherland 2002-10-07 09:27:14 UTC
Hmmm...

I've used /dev/lp for parallel interfaces on intel hardware
with Linux for a long time. Is this a 2.4x kernel change?

I'll try using/looking for the new device.

Thanks!

you can enable paraport support w/out enabling paraport printer support ...
