Description Sascha Wuestemann 2005-03-28 05:56:12 UTC
I am using kernel 2.6.8-rc4. I have an usb-wlan network interface supported by the CVS drivers of http://at76c503a.berlios.de. Modprobing uhci-hcd works fine and it also kernel-autmatically loads the wlan modules:

---cut-off---

whenever I load the cipe modules http://sites.inka.de/sites/bigred/devel/cipe.html I get the Oops.

Is this a kernel module bug of uhci-hcd and what should I do?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.modprobing uhc-hcd
2.waiting for at76c503 modules to be ready loaded
3.modprobing cipe modules and configuring the interfaces.

Actual Results:
Kernel Oops, see the attachement.

Expected Results:
work fine.

In between I have stepped back to kernel v2.4.28-gentoo-r8 and I have no problems at all with usb, wlan and cipe, so my problem seem kernelrelated.

FYI: I have to compile the at76c503 cvs-version and cipe v1.6.0 against the running kernel and it sources to get the correspondig modules and binaries.

Do you think that I should post a bugreport to the kernel mailinglist, too?
Or do you think that this case is due to the gentoo kernel patches?

regards,
Sascha
