I noticed that there was no ebuild for gstreamer NAS sink and it was also not installed by the gst-plugins ebuild. So I wrote the plugin. There was one problem related to gst-plugins.eclass, there seems to be no obvious way to enable several configure flags at once, --enable-nas also needs --enable-x to work, but gst-plugins.eclass disables everything (including x). My workaround was to add "x" to $GST_PLUGINS_BUILD, but I think gst-plugins.eclass should be modified to allow additional flags _after_ the ones which the eclass itself adds so you could override the defaults. allso works with 0.8.10 gstreamer
I have been using this 0.8.8 ebuild for several weeks now on AMD64. Today gstreamer 0.8.10 went stable on amd64, but there is still no ebuild for the NAS plugin. I have copied the 0.8.8 NAS ebuild to 0.8.10 and merged it successfully. Oh, and it's working too ;) I would very much like it to be added for both the bug creator's ~x86 and for ~amd64. short emerge info: Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/amd64/2005.0, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r1, 2.6.12-gentoo-r9 x86_64) System uname: 2.6.12-gentoo-r9 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13
also works in 0.8.11
to the gstreamer devs please add nas to media-libs/gst-plugins-good, media-libs/gst-plugins-bad or media-libs/gst-plugins-good distribution i would prefer media-libs/gst-plugins-good but please add it anywhere PLEASE!!!!!! i want it if you add it you are the best and greatest devs on the world if no - i will follow you in your dreams just kidding but please!!!!!
nas plugin has not been ported to 0.10 yet. As most gstreamer using apps are moving or have moved to 0.10 I don't think it is worth adding an ebuild for nassink yet. Once it gets ported, it may be prudent to add it.
Please, reopen once this has been ported to gstreamer-0.10
