Description Fabio Coatti 2022-07-19 15:01:35 UTC
>>> Installing (1 of 1) net-analyzer/openbsd-netcat-1.195-r1::gentoo
 * This package will overwrite one or more files that may belong to other
 * packages (see list below). You can use a command such as `portageq
 * owners / <filename>` to identify the installed package that owns a
 * file. If portageq reports that only one package owns a file then do
 * NOT file a bug report. A bug report is only useful if it identifies at
 * least two or more packages that are known to install the same file(s).
 * If a collision occurs and you can not explain where the file came from
 * then you should simply ignore the collision since there is not enough
 * information to determine if a real problem exists. Please do NOT file
 * a bug report at https://bugs.gentoo.org/ unless you report exactly
 * which two packages install the same file(s). See
 * https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Knowledge_Base:Blockers for tips on how
 * to solve the problem. And once again, please do NOT file a bug report
 * unless you have completely understood the above message.
 *
 * Detected file collision(s):
 *
 * 	/usr/bin/nc
 *
 * Searching all installed packages for file collisions...
 *
 * Press Ctrl-C to Stop
 *
 * net-analyzer/nmap-7.92-r1:0::gentoo
 * 	/usr/bin/nc
 *
 * Package 'net-analyzer/openbsd-netcat-1.195-r1' NOT merged due to file
 * collisions. If necessary, refer to your elog messages for the whole
 * content of the above message.

Reproducible: Always

equery uses nmap
[ Legend : U - final flag setting for installation]
[        : I - package is installed with flag     ]
[ Colors : set, unset                             ]
 * Found these USE flags for net-analyzer/nmap-7.92-r1:
 U I
 + + ipv6                     : Add support for IP version 6

 + + ssl : Add support for SSL/TLS connections (Secure Socket Layer / Transport Layer Security)
 + + symlink : Install symlink to nc
 - - verify-sig               : Verify upstream signatures on distfiles
Comment 2 Fabio Coatti 2022-07-19 15:03:11 UTC
I guess this can be easily avoided with -symlink use flag, but still..

Right. I would not set USE=symlink globally. It's somethign to set per-package.

but the blocker is real and should be added. I'll do that.
