Description Prakash Punnoor 2005-03-12 01:08:06 UTC
Above ebuilf uses pkg1 instead of pkg0. The difference are just the missing precompiled kernel interfaces - which gentoo users obviously don't need. So we could save ~4MB download size by using pkg0. (Works fine for me, btw.)

Oh, same applies to nvidia-glx...

Yes, I saw it afterwards, but its going to be silly to change it now.
Comment 3 John 2005-04-01 22:20:16 UTC
A google for pkg0 gives no results. Changing nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx ebuilds to pkg1 installs correctly, otherwise emerge searches all servers for pkg0 and never finds them.

Well, then search better.

For latest driver:

ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-7174/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7174-pkg0.run

this has been done for a while.
