Description William Coulter 2005-02-27 18:10:51 UTC
Trying to emerge dictd, it failed in the following way:

>>> emerge (1 of 11) app-text/dictd-1.9.11-r1 to /

!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!!    /usr/portage/distfiles/dictd-1.9.11.tar.gz
!!! Reason: Failed on MD5 verification

I then tried emerge sync'ing as well as removing the mirror that I had been using when I got the failure, but to no avail. Perhaps the MD5 *is* wrong?

Please advise ...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge sync
2. emerge -a =dictd-1.9.11-r1

Actual Results:
>>> emerge (1 of 11) app-text/dictd-1.9.11-r1 to /

!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!!    /usr/portage/distfiles/dictd-1.9.11.tar.gz
!!! Reason: Failed on MD5 verification

Expected Results:
unpacking, compiling, installing, etc ...

md5sum is correct. Just checked with sourceforge.
Comment 2 William Coulter 2005-04-24 12:55:01 UTC
I guess one or more of the mirrors had a problem, not Gentoo itself.
