I'd like to mark libchipcard-1.9.9_beta stable on x86 soon. As it depends on sysfsutils-1.2.0, this needs to be marked stable before. There are 2 bugs pending about sysfsutils, one about compilation on gcc 2.95 (i don't know if we still support this, #72205) and one about the need of an update to >=sysfsutils-1.0 ( #64900), which could probably be fixed by marking the new version stable.
This version still places libsysfs.so under /usr/lib, in spite of the fact that multipath-tools could need it before /usr is mounted, i.e. when /usr is on a LVM2 logical volume. This library should really be under /lib on the root filesystem.
Here is a link to bug #71703, which is a report of the erroneous placement of libsysfs.so. This package should not, IMO, be marked stable until it fixes this other bug. [People who don't use udev and LVM2 together might disagree, but those of us who do find this bug annoying.]
arch teams: could you please test sysfsutils-1.2.0-r2 and mark stable? The only change from -r0 is the write_attribute fix in -r1 and in -r2 installing the shared libs into /lib so that they can be used before /usr is available.
stable on ppc64
ia64 done
Stable on hppa
Why did you close this?
x86 there.. and please put the category in the summary when you request stuff from arches, makes out lives a little bit easier
(In reply to comment #7) > Why did you close this? sorry, my bad. just forgot what bug I was working on.
