Description Vincent 2005-02-15 13:01:24 UTC
The submount ebuild 0.9-r1 does not work after emerging.
The ebuild creates /usr/sbin/submountd , while it should be in /sbin/submountd .
While using subfs, the kernel will output this: subfs: submountd mount failure.

I read the solution in the forum:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-2064094-highlight-submount.html?sid=655223b07616b88288ccf4effa35ccc8#2064094

When creating a symlink from /usr/sbin/submountd to /sbin/submountd it works.
When reading that I mentioned it on the wiki too:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Submount

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge submount (0.9-r1)
2. Use subfs in fstab
3. mount a cd-rom, type df and look at kernel-output (dmesg)

Actual Results:
Output from dmesg =
subfs: submountd mount failure.

Expected Results:
Mount cd/dvd according to fstab reference.
