Description Justus Winter 2005-02-12 03:15:50 UTC
xc/programs/Xserver/fb/fbmmx.c failed to compile. see bug number 80685. compilation was fine after manually applying these three patches attached to the bugreport for the previous version:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80685#c3
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80685#c4
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80685#c9

it seems to work fine, i am writing this using xorg-x11-6.8.2 compiled with gcc4.

Mark Loeser wrote in comment nine of the bug mentioned above that he backported that patch from xorg cvs, so they know about the problem and have the patch. so why didn't they applied it to their 6.8.2 release?

Reproducible: Always

I think this bug can just be marked as a duplicate of bug 80685. The other bug's summary has been updated to state its for xorg 6.8.2 now.
