Latest version of HTML-Mason in portage is 1.26, but, as noted in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76792, 1.27 added support for apache2/mod_perl2, and there has since been a version bump. I'll attach an ebuild that attempts to add optional apache2 support and also corrects SRC_URI. It builds with this ebuild but I haven't tested it for functionality yet. Do the DEPENDS really want to be RDEPENDS?
This is greatly needed. Installing Mason or something that depends on it pulls in apache1, libapreq1, mod_perl-1.26 and all kinds of junk that is not wanted in a pure apache2 environment. This ebuild works great for me as an overlay. Please commit. A quick ebump to 1.29_01 is probably appropriate too, but I'm not sure how to handle that underscore in the version string. Version 1.29 also requires '>=dev-perl/mod_perl-1.24' (only needed for !apache2). Note: Don't take that to mean 1.28 shouldn't be added. Both ebuilds should be added.
