emerging amarok with USE=gstreamer tries to emerge gconf too. i found out that gconf is needed only if you want to configure how gnome applications use gstreamer. Note that if you emerge gst-plugins without having gconf(by using package.provided for now), you won't have gstreamer-properties, but this is not really needed if you don't have any gnome application like rhythmbox or totem. Amarok can configure the gstreamer engine itself. So please introduce a gnome flag and make gconf optional.
