Please bump dev-text/pgf to the current version as the one in the tree is incompatible with TexLive 2020/2021. Reproducible: Always

As per https://github.com/latex2html/latex2html/issues/70 , I suspect that I am running into this as well. To reproduce, run 'pdflatex images.tex'. emerge --info: Portage 3.0.20 (python 3.9.5-final-0, default/linux/x86/17.0/hardened, gcc-10.3.0, glibc-2.33-r1, 5.10.6 i686) I manually installed '3.1.9a' and noticed that my issue went away.
Just reporting that it's impossible to compile plots generated by gnuplot with the tikz terminal due to this issue. Trying to compile the produced tex file with pdflatex results in the following error, which gives almost no google hits: ! Undefined control sequence. \pr@endbox ...fi \c@page =\pr@snippet \pr@shipout \ifpr@fixbb \hbox {\dimen@... l.27 \end{tikzpicture} As commented by the previous user, upgrading to 3.1.9a fixed it for me.
The current version also causes problems when using shading in xelatex. See: https://bugs.gentoo.org/806677 Please update it. Thank you.
Created attachment 756975 [details] Unofficial ebuild I created an unofficial ebuild for myself; no real QC run on it, but it works for me (TM). https://github.com/clinew/overlay_frostsnow/tree/master/dev-tex/pgf
Just ran into the same problem when using the beamer package.
