Description Jonas MG 2005-01-29 16:32:01 UTC
1- Gentoo does not support more Xfree. Therefore the files XF86Config.in and XF86Config-4.in are not necessary

2- The directory /usr/X11R6/lib has changed to /usr/lib

3- The use of "font":unscaled is deprecated

4- It would be better to put one only list of fonts standard

5- Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" must be changed to:
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"

6- The keyboard driver 'keyboard' will be replaced soon by the driver 'kbd'.

All these changes are in the patch

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actually, I hadn't made these changes simply because xorg-x11-6.8.0-r4 hadn't gone stable yet. That, and if you're building an X-enabled LiveCD with the ati-drivers on it, you're still stuck with with xorg-x11-6.7.0-r3 until the new ati-drivers become stable.

I will definitely apply this patch, but only after the new ati-drivers go stable, which means everybody will be on >=xorg-x11-6.8.0-r4 and these will make sense. Otherwise, changing the keyboard or the font paths will break on the older versions.

This was fixed in mkxf86config 0.9...
