I notice that there are alot of packages that have important info detailed at the end of the ebuild merge. The console beeps have been a great idea as they alert me to possible info I may need to know, however, the built in pauses are varied and usually never long enough. This is fine in a single emerge with no deps, but during an -Duv world it really matters. My suggestion is to add a flag to emerge that pauses for user input, or times out after a good solid block of time (2-3 mins). I think it would help users be more aware of changes in packages they have installed, and possibly reduce forum load a bit. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -Duv world 2. 3.
