Description cami 2002-01-08 04:27:37 UTC
Using >=sys-apps/baselayout-1.6.7
Using >=sys-apps/portage-1.6.10
Using ~sys-devel/binutils-
Using =sys-devel/gcc-2.95.3-r5
Using sys-devel/gettext
Using ~sys-libs/glibc-2.2.4
Calculating dependencies... done!
!!! Error: circular dependencies

it continues to build the packages untill this point:

>>> original instance of package unmerged safely
>>> Regenerating /etc/
>>> sys-devel/gcc-2.95.3-r5 merged.

* Regenerating GNU info directory index...
* Processed 1 info files.
Calculating dependencies... done!
!!! Error: circular dependencies

and then it dies.. i have tried this about 5 times today
and it is not working.. last night it was working perfectly..
i am creating the filesystem using ReiserFS, mounting the
drive with -o notail, and following the documentation step
by step.. as i mentioned, last night following the same
documentation step by step, i installed it perfectly a
number of times yesterday..

this happens regardless if i change the default mirror from
ibiblio to another mirror..

any ideas?

fixed. An invalid package.mask entry (gbevin?) caused the circular dep. do
another "emerge rsync" and this should start working again.
