When someone emerges vi(m) or one of its cousins, a message should be displayed informing the user of the user guide available from the Gentoo Doc Project and its URL [Learning vi -- the "cheatsheet" technique (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/vi-guide.xml)].
These additions would help new users figure out how to use vi-like editors on their own. This would reduce the number of repetitive questions about using vi et al asked on the forums and irc.

okay then, mention either the guide or vimtutor, or both, depending on what vi-like editor is being emerged.
