Description Scott Robbins 2002-09-07 20:37:45 UTC
In 1.4_beta, some ebuilds, such as lbreakout2 and tuxracer are, during
configuration giving the error message during configuration that SDL_MIXER
is not found. The documentation for lbreakout2 says that this means the
development package is not installed.

The result is that the ebuild is compiled without audio.

Identical results on 3 installations. Suggestions on IRC indicate that this
should be filed against libsdl rather than gcc 3.2

Looking at the bug report mentioned in the Changelog (bug #3762) I tried
downgrading, however had the same results. It does work without problem in
Gentoo 1.2 using gcc 2.95.

It's apparently not a sound issue as other things, such as lbreakout work
without problem.

Problem is reproduced consistently whether using lbreakout2 ebuild or
downloading source for lbreakout2 from Sourceforge.

See bug 6888. Had I seen that one I probably wouldn't have filed this one.
