Description Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-27 00:32:49 UTC
Hi,

I just tried out media-libs/xine-lib-1.0, but it won't compile:

tail: `-1' option is obsolete; use `-n 1' since this will be removed in the future
checking for sgmltools... no
checking for fig2dev... no
checking dependency style of ... none
configure: error: conditional "HAVE_XV" was never defined.
Usually this means the macro was only invoked conditionally.

!!! ERROR: media-libs/xine-lib-1.0 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 449, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

reassigning to chriswhite, as this seems to be arch independent.
Comment 2 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-27 01:20:11 UTC
I also have this error on x86, seems to be because of the later xorg-x11 versions.

xine-lib.diff

This is a workaround, that afaik only works with one of the newer
>=xorg-x11-6.8.0-r4

The bug was already fixed in -rc8-r1, but I think the fix got lost in 1.0

I am also having this bug, I'm running Xorg 6.8.0-r3. The ebuild spits the exact error of the original bug reporter. This is in an x86 architecture.

Same here with x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.1.901 on ~x86. The attached patch fixes the issue.

mhh.. I hate the bugzilla searchengine... I definetly searched for this bug, but nothing was found..

Closing now.
