Description Radek Podgorny 2004-12-26 03:38:11 UTC
When trying to merge intltool-0.32.1 and few other ebuilds, it always fails with:

checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool

Portage 2.0.51-r8 (default-linux/x86/2004.0, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-, 2.6.10-rc1 i686)

The strange thing:

sol radek # emerge XML-Parser -pv

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] dev-perl/XML-Parser-2.34 0 kB

My perl is perl-5.8.6-r1
Comment 1 Radek Podgorny 2004-12-26 04:07:11 UTC
Re-emerging XML-Parser fixed it but is this the correct way?
Comment 2 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-26 06:07:43 UTC
most likely you did not run the libperl rebuilder after updating perl
Comment 3 Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-26 07:29:46 UTC
if you check the ebuild, intltool is not missing the xml-parser dep. Please search next time
