I try to build freecad from an overlay. It seems i run into same issue as shown below. Workaround also in this bug. Similar as in https://bugs.gentoo.org/708894, please try simage-1.8.1. It should resolve all automatic dependencies and silently not found dependencies, like with sndfile here.
