Description Chris Smith 2020-11-03 14:42:52 UTC
revdep-rebuild wants to continually rebuild media-video/ccextractor-0.85-r2 due to missing

also note that this version (0.85) seems quite out of date -

Reproducible: Always

It builds and installs, but apparently doesn't install the library as it is nowhere to be found and revdep-rebuild complains about it

revdep-rebuild -vpi

Comment 4 Chris Smith 2020-11-03 21:33:14 UTC
I'm guessing that is from the ccextractor package, if not then there should be a depend for the package that provides it.
Comment 5 Chris Smith 2020-11-08 17:51:28 UTC
After an "ebuild ... compile" the library exists:
/var/tmp/portage/media-video/ccextractor-0.85-r2/work # find ./ -name ''

But the library is missing from the image after an "ebuild ... install" so it never gets installed.

"ebuild ... qmerge" shows no library getting installed:
# ebuild ccextractor-0.85-r2.ebuild qmerge

Comment 6 Chris Smith 2020-11-08 21:04:12 UTC
Attempting to run ccextractor fails because the library is missing:
$ ccextractor
ccextractor: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Comment 7 Chris Smith 2020-11-08 21:07:01 UTC
This line:
- "Libs: -L\${libdir} -lccx -lpng\n"

in the ccextractor-0.85-cmake.patch may have something to do with it.

This needs to be revisited to either last-rite it or unbundle a *load* of deps.
Comment 10 Thomas Pfaff 2020-11-10 17:51:17 UTC
I could find an installed ccextractor from end of last year. that worked, and did not have a shared link to libcxx. I guess it was statically linked instead.
On newer builds it seems to link dynamically instead.
Comment 11 Anthony Lieuallen 2021-01-31 20:53:33 UTC
I can confirm this exact problem. Installed 0.88 and it runs. Regardless of anything else, it seems like 0.88 should be unmasked by default as the otherwise unmasked version (0.85-r2) doesn't run at all.
