Description Alexander Hsia 2004-12-16 00:18:54 UTC
Any paste will force other cells in the column to be shifted down. The previous correct behavior was that a paste overwrote the cells' contents while leaving everything else alone. I have reported this to Ximian bugzilla, and they say they can replicate it in win32 but not in Linux. So, posting here as a possible issue with the Gentooized version of ximian-openoffice

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter some random data in a column
2. Copy one of the cells
3. Paste it somewhere in the middle of the data
4. Watch as it pushes other cells down

Actual Results:
Forces cells below paste point to be shifted down and inserts the paste into the
newly created blank cell

Expected Results:
Overwrite the contents of the cell at the paste point while leaving the others alone

Comment 1 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-12 15:13:49 UTC
Could you please test 1.3.7 and see if that problem is still there? Cause I can't reproduce it and it could have been fixed in the last release (which also would explain, why it works on nld)
Comment 2 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-18 10:31:57 UTC
Closing, works for me and was a known upstream bug, please reopen if your problem persists
Comment 3 Alexander Hsia 2005-01-20 18:09:17 UTC
I recompiled 1.3.7 on both my laptop and desktop computer. (One is a pentium-m and the other an athlon) I still get this odd paste behavior on both machines. I also tried deleting my .xopenoffice directory hoping that it was some odd configuration setting leftover from 1.3.6, but no luck.

I removed the faulty patch from the buildset, so please emerge sync and try again (after a little time for the mirrors to catch up)

Thanks for reporting, again. Closing.
Comment 6 Alexander Hsia 2005-01-26 06:57:37 UTC
Resynced and recompiled (on Jan 24) on two different machines but am still getting this error.
Comment 7 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-31 01:11:42 UTC
Could you please try 1.3.8 and see if the problem is still there?
Comment 8 Alexander Hsia 2005-02-03 17:18:25 UTC
Glad to report that 1.3.8 fixes this problem on both my home laptop and my work computer.
Comment 9 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-04 01:34:51 UTC
Ok, thanks for reporting back, closing again
