Requires the Redhat enterprise kernel 2.4.21-9.0.3 for 1.4.14 or 2.4.21-15.0.4 for 1.5.3 (see bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74336)
Can we not just ask redhat for the sources and offer them gentoo support for their driver in return? I have seen a similar pkg from IBM: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53536 fedora seems to have the sources for the ppc64-utils, but I cant find it somewhere on the mirrors .. could you clear me up on the license(what is in the ebuild looks like "no sources, no license") and why we not have the sources for these 2 drivers, please?
IBM do not distribute the source to these binaries, as far as I can tell. In regards to http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53536 this appears to be based off a binary RPM, one of the commenters also indicates that he does not beleive there is source available. As for the license, this is installed in /usr/share/doc/IBMtape-x.xx and can also be found at ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/Doc/UserLicense.pdf. Since it was not present in /usr/portage/licenses, I chose LICENSE="No-Problem-Bugroff" to get it functional.
Sorry, we aren't developing against 2.4 kernels at the moment. Also, I can't get to the homepage in the ebuild.
