In a fresh gentoo installation when configuring a kernel "make menuconfig" works but "make gconfig" not. The necessary dependencies are installed Afaik. From Jeroen's comment I could infer that make gconfig requires gtk+ 2 while we are already on version 3.xx. Is that the case? So then it's probably an upstream bug?
