Description Jan Schubert 2002-08-31 19:12:13 UTC
After installing from stage1_1.4b and doing a emerge system i got errors while
building python regarding _hostshot (and _weakref ?):

<some compiling stuff, not bad looking>
WARNING: removing "_hotshot" since importing it failed
skipping 'weakref' extension (up-to-date)
WARNING: removing "_weakref" since importing it failed
error: build/temp.linux-i686-2.2/hotshot.o: No such file or directory
make: *** [sharemods] Error 1

Any ideas? TiA

Which filesystem are you using?
Comment 2 Jan Schubert 2002-09-01 13:30:02 UTC
I'm using reiserfs. I'm also using reiserfs on other gentoo-systems without
any problems. Right now i'm trying to build the whole system without
-malign-double which - i figured out in an other issue - is a really bad
thing. I'll let you know what will happen...
Comment 3 Jan Schubert 2002-09-01 15:14:01 UTC
OK, it seems to rebuild everything without -malign-double works fine, so i
close this one...

Again: you should make sure nobody is using this optimazation in his CFLAGS
(see also BUG 7332).
Comment 4 Jon Nelson (RETIRED) 2002-09-02 22:24:47 UTC
OK, filter-flags added to python 2.2.1-r3
