This is about the interpreter, PYTHON_TARGETS will be unmasked later. All tests should pass on amd64. On other arches, there will be probably permanent ctypes failures. I can start looking into skipping them once we have final lists per arch.

I'm getting configure failures when cross-compiling now because Python apparently BDEPENDs on itself, and 3.8 is not stable on amd64 while it is stable for the target architecture: checking for python interpreter for cross build... configure: error: python3.8 interpreter not found
