Description razamatan 2020-02-07 08:52:33 UTC
https://bugs.gentoo.org/704782 is the context for removal. but in the bug, vapier@ goes ahead and unmasks and performs the version bump. we shouldn't have to remove this package.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --sync
2. equery l -p chrome-remote-desktop

Actual Results:
no package

Expected Results:
package exists

this isn't a dupe of that bug. i can't reopen this bug. i'm trying to see if vapier@ is going to be the maintainer or not..

They did not add themselves to maintainers in metadata so the assumption is *no*.

As I indicated on bug 704782 and in my commit messages, this package really needs an active maintainer, and that maintainer needs to be listed in metadata.xml. This is important to ensure that bug reports get assigned correctly.

I directly requested vapier to add himself to metadata.xml, but he took no action to that effect.

If anyone wants to restore the package (minus the un-fetchable versions), just make sure metadata.xml is updated appropriately.

I am updating this bug report to treat it as a "new" package request.
