New version was out: https://github.com/rcaelers/workrave/releases And it was ported to python3 https://github.com/rcaelers/workrave/issues/130 so no need to depend on dev-python/cheetah!

So, the current version in tree (1.10.20) doesn't depend on Python 2, because the dbus flag was disabled since 2015. I'm uploading an updated ebuild, where I disabled all the Python references, thus allowing to remove Python 2 and preserve Workrave in the tree, without a bump version.

I'm sorry to say but it doesn't seem that GNOME is interested in maintaining this further. If you want to become a maintainer for it, feel free to submit it for readding via proxy-maint.
