Installation of ut2004-3323 fails with a rather odd message. I am using the 6 CD version, if that matters. I was able to install it into /usr/local/ut2004 using the on-disc script but that doesn't have the 3323 patch, so the game generally works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Buy the game. :-) 2. emerge ut2004 3. Actual Results: ./root/ ./root/.loki/ ./root/.loki/installed/ ./root/.loki/installed/ut2004.xml tbz2tool: bin.tar.bz2 doesn't exist mv: cannot stat `ut2004-3323.tbz2': No such file or directory !!! ERROR: games-fps/ut2004-3323 failed. !!! Function dyn_package, Line 912, Exitcode 1 !!! Failed to move tbz2 to /usr/portage_packages.aurigae/All !!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. Expected Results: I would expect a successful install. aurigae root # emerge info Portage 2.0.51-r2 (default-linux/x86/2004.0, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP 1600+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 distcc 2.16 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r5 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 Binutils: sys-devel/binutils-2.14.90.0.8-r1 Headers: sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.4.19-r1,sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.4.21-r1 Libtools: sys-devel/libtool-1.5.2-r5 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=athlon-xp -march=i686 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/lib/jboss /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=athlon-xp -march=i686 -pipe" DISTDIR="/data/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs buildpkg ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.osuosl.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage_packages.aurigae" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/data/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X aalib acpi acpi4linux alsa apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr crypt cups encode esd f77 fam flac foomaticdb gdbm ggi gif gimpprint gnome gnomedb gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 guile imagemagick imlib ipv6 jack java jpeg junit kde libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx motif mozilla mpeg nas ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png postgres ppds python qt quicktime readline sdl slang snmp spell ssl tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib video_cards_fglrx video_cards_radeon"
FEATURES="-buildpkg" emerge ut2004 Your system doesn't have enough RAM (or disk space) to build a 6GB binary package. My suggesttion would be to turn the feature off for this package, or remove it altogether.
I have exactly the same problem. My drive where the package is built and stored has 53% disk space free, this being on a 120G drive. System Specs are 120G SATA Drive 53% used 1G Ram P4 3.0Ghz
Unless your system has >6GB of RAM, you will always get this error... FEATURES="-buildpkg" emerge ut2004 ...is the only solution.
