Description Rasmus Melgaard 2004-11-09 07:18:59 UTC
One or more of the gentoo-patches to the kernel tree 2.6 causes some sort of stall in the TCP-traffic, no browser (not even links2 in console-login-mode) can get the homepage of http://www.axis.com. But if you which to vanilla-sources (2.6) then it works. Tested on almost all versions 2.6.7 and 2.6.8 of gentoo-dev-sources, switched to vanilla 2.6.8 and it worked in all browsers (links2, firefox, mozilla, konqueor).
 - During a TCP-stall, Ethereal shows an ACK being sent to the web-server, but nothing happens after that, maybee the 'ACK' is not sent after all?
Comment: I have see this behaviour on several web-servers and I think they might all be MS-IIS, but not all MS-IIS produce the failure!

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.change kernel of Gentoo 2004.2 to gentoo-dev-sources version 2.6.8-r10 ( emerge =sys-kernel/gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8-r10)
2. Build the kernel, i'll try to attach my kernel.config
3. links2 http://www.axis.com and see it stall (around 5.5 k into the page)

Actual Results:
Stall web is not loaded

Expected Results:
Load the page
