There seems to be no problem to me for the python-lzo package.

There seems to be no problem > to me for the python-lzo package. x11-wm/xpra-3.0.2 has PYTHON_COMPAT=( python3_{6,7} ) and depends on dev-python/python-lzo[${PYTHON_USEDEP}] but only dev-python/python-lzo-1.08-r1 with PYTHON_COMPAT=( python2_7 ) is stable.
