Sorry to bump a bump, but aravis should *really* be updated to the 0.8 branch. Being an even version number, 0.8 is stable, while odd version numbers are unstable. In particular, the 0.7 branch has undergone many changes wrt. the use of GError, and version 0.7.1 is right in the middle of the transition. Software is either compatible with 0.6 or 0.8, it cannot be compatible with 0.7 as every "patch" version has a different API.
