x11-themes/nuovo-icon-theme does not create any visible/usable icons for Plasma. Selecting the theme will cause all icons to go blank. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install x11-themes/nuovo-icon-theme 2. Run systemsettings5 3. Go to Appearance->Icons Actual Results: The icon theme "Dropline Nuovo" is void of icons. Selecting the icon theme turns almost all icons on Plasma blank. Expected Results: The icons should be both visible and usable in Plasma. Let me know which plasma/KDE package(s) for which you want the version number. Possible related bug: 695364

This is not a duplicate. Installing only this package, without the other ones, still has the problem.
When the icon cache update fails for a specific directory, then applications will not be able to use that cache. One thing leads to another. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 695364 ***

Bugs 695366, 695368, and 695372 have nothing to do with 695364 and I can talk you through the difference.

However, yasis-icon-theme and gargantuan-icon-theme have no icons in plasma. All other themes installed subsequently work properly. If you have any questions let me know and I can talk you through it on IRC or Discord and prove that the bugs have nothing to do with each other.

Bug 695364 does however block this bug 695368. Perhaps I can explain it this way: Theme Name / icon-cache issue? / missing icons in Plasma? nou-icon-theme / Yes (bug 695362) / No nuovo-icon-theme / Yes (bug 695364) / Yes (bug 695368) yasis-icon-theme / No / Yes (bug 695366) gargantuan-icon-theme / No / Yes (bug 695372)
Before making any changes or suggestions regarding these bugs I've been filing, I will discuss on the forum, so that others can verify the issues and help me explain things to the Bugzilla people better: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8374262.html
Per discussion on the forum, this is not a bug, as themes have to support Plasma and this one does not: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1102340.html https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8374326.html#8374326 https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8374466.html#8374466 I've marked it as "Resolved Invalid" as it is not a duplicate of other bugs despite confusion. See the forum for more information.
