Description Bret Comstock Waldow 2004-10-26 21:05:09 UTC
Current kernel update is gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r1.ebuild. During recompile, a new option is CONFIG_LOCALVERSION which is "" (null) by default, so modules by default are in /lib/modules/2.6.9-gentoo-r1.

ltmodem package uses 2.6.9-gentoo-r1 regardless of any optional CONFIG_LOCALVERSION entry made. If the kernel allows it, the ltmodem package must track it. Adding an optional entry breaks ltmodem install (although the package compiles correctly).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r1
2. Change default CONFIG_LOCALVERSION in config and make && make modules_install
3. Emerge ltmodem-8.26_alpha9-r3

Actual Results:
See /lib/modules/2.6.9-gentoo-r1T21 and /lib/modules/2.6.9-gentoo-r1. Former is
kernel modules, latter is ltmodem modules.

Expected Results:
Taken the CONFIG_LOCALVERSION suffix into account in creating it's target
install folder.
