When can we expect to see the patch in portage?
The patch worked for me as well on Funtoo 1.4. Anyone using minicom likely will run into this same issue since it depends on lrzsz. According to the metadata.xml in the portage tree, the maintainer is embedded@gentoo.org, but that seems like a general mailbox or mailing list address rather than an individual address. I'm not sure that the maintainer is even aware that this patch exists or is needed to successfully build this package. I added the noted maintainer address to the CC list for visibility.
