Description Peter Johanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-22 07:29:38 UTC
Openning a meta-bug for getting rid of kmod/config-kernel stuff from the tree. The reason the kmod/config-kernel existed has disappeared, and the minimal other benefits provided are not worth the massive work required keeping up with 2.6 kernel changes, given the new kernel development model. CC yourself here if you want to track general info, CC on specific bugs if it's a package you care about.

(sheds tear over all the work gone to waste on everyone's part)
Comment 1 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-03 17:20:06 UTC
Removing 68449 since I resolved it.
Comment 2 Andrew Bevitt 2004-11-06 18:13:59 UTC
Removed bug 68442 (nvidia stuff) as it has been resolved.
Comment 3 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-19 12:05:10 UTC
And finally I add the last bug here: 71781
Only this one and kdrive ( bug 68455 ) are still open, so we should be able to remove kmod soon :)
Comment 4 Andrew Bevitt 2004-11-25 14:37:52 UTC
removing 68455 (kdrive)
Comment 5 Peter Johanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-08 17:30:08 UTC
