Description Thomas Capricelli 2019-02-25 11:16:17 UTC
If i install bpython and starts it, i have the following error:

% bpython
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python-exec/python2.7/bpython", line 6, in <module>
    from pkg_resources import load_entry_point

    raise DistributionNotFound(req, requirers)
pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'typing' distribution was not found and is required by curtsies

I can manually install the 'typing' by doing:
emerge -1 dev-python/typing

Then everything works well:

% bpython
bpython version 0.17.1 on top of Python 2.7.15 /usr/bin/python2.7

For the record: the patch from 2019 adds a dependancy on 'typing' in the the curtsies ebuild. The current (2021-02) ebuild doesn't have it anymore, probably because typing is now part of python3. Anyway, it works.
