Description Aben Siatris 2004-10-15 03:17:11 UTC
* Setting up the Logical Volume Manager...

lvm2 vgscan on my 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 during boot corrupt my root partition (reiserfs)
(totally corrupt)

this is very, very bad :(((((
(same error fixed on bugs.debian.org)

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start lvm
Comment 2 Aben Siatris 2004-10-18 00:22:28 UTC
kernel 2.6.8-r10, sys-fs/lvm2-2.00.08, sys-libs/device-mapper-1.00.17-r1 is ok.

1: but, lvm2 is not insusceptible for endless symlinks in /dev

2: fction list_iterate(dh, &_cache.dirs) in dev-cache.c.
adding dirs not accept regexp from lvm.conf. vgscan scans all dirs
without regexp filter check from lvm.conf

Please test with some of the newer ebuilds and report back. This issue should be
fixed.
