Description Chris L. Mason 2004-10-09 12:37:47 UTC
Most qpkg commands seem to work okay, but -f fails. For example:

$ qpkg -f /usr/include/libintl.h
xargs: -n: No such file or directory

It looks like an incompatibility with the macosx xargs.

Try http://dev.gentoo.org/~usata/misc/qpkg-macos.patch.
(It was posted to gentoo-osx list a while ago.)
Comment 2 Chris L. Mason 2004-10-09 14:59:48 UTC
Yes, the same patch seems to fix both this and bug #66910.

Thanks.
Comment 3 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-10 15:53:25 UTC
qpkg and etcat are deprecated, please use equery instead.
Comment 4 Chris L. Mason 2004-10-10 16:01:44 UTC
So, if they are deprecated, should they not be removed from the package? So long as they are in the package, isn't this a valid bug?

(in any event, is there any reason not to apply the patch?)

Thanks.
Comment 5 Chris L. Mason 2004-10-10 16:03:52 UTC
Btw, equery doesn't appear ready. It has no man page, and lots of stuff is marked "unimplemented"
Comment 6 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-08 04:43:08 UTC
qpkg is deprecated, I won't fix it anymore and will likely remove/replace it
after gentoolkit-0.2.0.
