I'm trying to upgrade firefox to version 1.0_pre1, which means upgrading readline to 5.0-r1.. However when I try, emerge keeps failing to find a particular file(readline50-004). Download files from ftp://ftp.cwru.edu/pub/bash/readline-5.0-patches - eventually they'll be on gentoo mirros and problem will go away...
i just tested our main gentoo mirror and the patches are on there

Well something must be outof "sync" stopping those files to reach out to mirrors as I also have had this error now for several days and continuing...
